The tasks of a Sales Representative are and he/she is responsible for: 

  1. Visiting regularly all customers, assessing requirements and advising customers on the selection of articles and selling Wurth products in the designated sales area.                                                                                                                                                            
  2. Selling at prices, terms and conditions within the Policies and Procedures of Wurth.
  3. Developing good relationships with the employees/owners of said businesses in order to sell and promote Wurth products.
  4. Expanding the customer base by gaining new customers, increase turnover of existing and established customers and reactivating Zero spent customers.
  5. Working with marketing tools supplied by the company to show and demonstrate products and train customers in the use of products and providing relevant technical information.
  6. Processing daily orders through the Wurth Intranet each day                
  7. Processing all customer credits and dispatching goods to the nearest distribution center within 2 working days.
  8. Meeting the set turnover targets.
  9. Making sure that customers' accounts are within our trading terms. Following up overdue accounts and responding to the requests of the accounts department in a timely manner
  10. The Employee will be subject to and must observe and comply with all rules, policies and procedures in force from time to time as set out in the Staff Manual or published in any other form.
  11. Improving permanently his/her product knowledge, sales technique and people skills.
  12. Keeping the company car in a clean and roadworthy state and keeping, mobile phone, tablet and associated hardware, paperwork and all property of Wurth in good clean presentable order.
  13. Making the optimum use of the given time maintaining and following a travel plan, by setting daily goals, priorities and spending most of the time selling in the field.
  14. Being confidential about all company information. 
  15. Contributing information and market trends at sales meetings and/or to the marketing department; as well as training new sales representatives when requested.
  16. Being responsible for his/her own safety and that of others, including following safe work procedures and reporting identified hazards.
  17. Not interfering with, misusing or obstructing safety equipment.
  18. Participating in quality assurance, environmental and OHS programs. Advising customers in regards of handling, storage, health and safety issues of Wurth products.
  19. Participating in sales meetings and training.
  1. Following any reasonable and lawful request relevant to the position as directed by any manager.

The Sales Representative has the authority to:

  1. Plan his/her working day in order to achieve permanent productivity.
  2. Set his/her own price and discount policy per customer within guidelines and/or Policies and Procedures.
  3. Promote the articles out of the Wurth product range which he/she thinks fit in order to achieve better market penetration and turnover.
  4. Openly give his/her opinion in regards to products, procedures and policies of the company to his/her Area Manager.
  5. Identify any deficiencies with the effectiveness of the quality, environmental and OHS system and issue any necessary Wurth Improvement Request to the appropriate person to correct the deficiency.

Performance indicators:       

  1. Turnover target fulfillment
  2. Absolute increase in turnover.
  3. Achieving the targeted gross profit rate.
  4. Number of visited and not visited customers.
  5. Number of new customers.
  6. Number of reactivated customers.
  7. Distribution rate of product groups and individual products.
  8. Collection days.
  9. Low rate of credits and returned goods.

Inherent physical requirements of the position:

  1. Lifting catalogue, brief case and samples.
  2. Handling goods returned from customers.
  3. Driving a company vehicle and getting in and out of the car in excess of 25 times per day.
  4. Travelling, when required to areas outside your normal area.

Materials and substances which may be encountered:

  1. Exposed to pre-packaged dangerous goods and hazardous substances.
  2. Product demonstrations may involve the use of power and air tools and other Wurth products.
